Survey: Most Companies Not Planning to Boost "Green" EffortsAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on October 30, 2009 - 7:06am.
Menlo Park, Calif.
- Despite a nationwide focus on "going green," most U.S. companies
don't plan to ramp up their eco-friendly programs and policies in the near
future, according to a new survey by Robert Half Management Resources.
Sixty-eight percent of CFOs interviewed said that they anticipate no changes in their companies' green initiatives over the next year, while just 28% said that they anticipate an increased focus on the issue. "Many companies may already be pursuing green initiatives and not feel they need further investments in the near term," said Paul McDonald, executive director of Robert Half Management Resources. "For other businesses, priorities may have shifted from environmental initiatives to returning to profitability, given the difficult economy."
