Qtrax Legal Download Service Inks Deal with China's BaiduAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on November 2, 2009 - 8:52am.
Los Angeles - Qtrax, the provider of an ad-supported, legal
song download service, on Monday announced a deal with Baidu (NASD: BIDU), China's leading
search engine, that will see users searching for songs or artists on Baidu directed
to Qtrax.
Specifically, users searching on Baidu's Entertainment Portal and Qian Qian Music Online sites will be sent to Qtrax when an artist or song is available from Qtrax's catalog. "As the dominant search engine in China, Baidu will provide us with substantial traffic from its music and entertainment portals," said Qtrax president and CEO Allan Klepfisz. "We, in turn, will provide the visitors they send to our independent free and legal site, a superior music discovery and download experience." Qtrax recently announced that it would be expanding into a number of Asia Pacific markets in the coming weeks.
