- Major record label EMI Music on Wednesday announced the launch of Abbey Road
Live, a live music recording and instant production service that will offer
fans digital recordings of concerts at the conclusion of the show.
Recordings will be sold at venues following the performance on CD, DVD, USB or via secure digital delivery to home computers or mobile phones as streams or downloads. The service, which was originally established in 2004 as Live Here Now by EMI label Mute Records, will initially launch in North America and Europe. The operation has already produced recordings of performances from artists including Blur, Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand and the Pixies.
