Yahoo Testing Real-Time Data in Search Results

San Francisco - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) is experimenting with providing real-time search results from services like Twitter, and has partnered with real-time search providers including OneRiot on the trials, Reuters reported.

Search rivals Google and Microsoft recently announced deals to add real-time data from Twitter and other similar services to their search results.

The Yahoo trial will initially be available only to some 10% of searchers on Yahoo, a source told Reuters.

Yahoo is looking "to discover if showing such content is useful to people," the company said in a statement.
