RealNetworks to Lay Off 4% of Staff

Seattle - RealNetworks (NASD: RNWK) will lay off 4% of its staff, or about 70 of its 1,700 employees, in a bid to cut costs amid the economic downturn, All Things D reports.

The layoffs at Seattle-based RealNetworks will reportedly be global, although the company may rehire some affected employees to work in other sectors of the company.

RealNetworks last laid off some 130 employees last year.
