Tokyo - Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) is looking
to expanding its search partnership with Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) beyond the U.S., provided
it is able to gain approval from antitrust regulators in other territories, CEO
Steve Ballmer said on Thursday, Reuters reported.
"It's possible that we
will extend that partnership (with Yahoo) outside the U.S.,"
Ballmer said at a news conference.
"We will have to wait and see if we can
get approval and consummate that partnership inside the U.S. first."
The company's
10-year deal to provide search results to Yahoo in the U.S. is still being examined by U.S. and
European regulators.
