- Six Degrees Games, a developer of online sports games, has raised $7 million
in its second round of venture capital financing, led by Time Warner (NYSE: TWX)
Investments.
Previous backers Clearstone Venture Partners and Prism VentureWorks also participated. Founded in 2007, Marina del Rey, Calif.-based Six Degrees launched its flagship game site, Action AllStars.com, about a year ago. The site lets gamers create virtual athletes, and then guide them through the ranks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), or one of 12 other games. Chief executive Minard Hamilton told VentureBeat the site now counts over a million unique monthly visitors, and more than one million new virtual athletes are created every month.
