Calif. - A day after it raised
$43 million in new financing, social games developer Playdom announced that it
has acquired Facebook game developer Green Patch, and iPhone and social game
developer Trippert Labs.
Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed. Mountain View, Calif.-based Playdom said its funding announcement that it planned to use some of the proceeds for acquisitions. The company said Green Patch's games, which include "Farm Life," will increase its monthly user base on Facebook by over 30%, while Trippert will boost its development capacity by more than 25%. "Playdom has aggressive plans to expand our social gaming footprint in 2010. With these acquisitions, we are increasing our cross-promotional power and bringing two talented new game studios into the Playdom family," said Playdom CEO John Pleasants.
