1020 Placecast Lands $5 Million for Location-based Marketing

San Francisco - Location-based ad network provider 1020 Placecast announced on Wednesday that it has raised $5 million in second round funding.

Investors included Quatrex Capital, and previous backers Onset Ventures and Voyager Capital.

San Francisco-based 1020 Placecast's platform uses location-based digital marketing on the Web and mobile to drive consumers into physical environments.

Clients and partners include NAVTEQ, Alcatel-Lucent, FedEx, Avis and Hyatt.

The company will use the funds to accelerate progress on its opt-in, location-triggered marketing feature.
