Report: Yahoo Search Share Dips in October; Bing, Google Gain

Reston, Va. - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) lost 0.8% of its share of the U.S. search market in October, while Google (NASD: GOOG) and Microsoft's (NASD: MSFT) Bing both saw increases, according to data from Internet audience measurement firm comScore.

Google, which now counts 65.4% of all U.S. search traffic, gained 0.5% from September. Yahoo now counts 18% of the market, while Microsoft's Bing rose 0.5% from September to claim 9.9% of traffic in October.

The Ask.com Network (NASD: IACI) captured 3.9% of search traffic, followed by AOL (NYSE: TWX) with 2.9%.

Overall, Americans conducted 14.3 billion Web searches in October, up 3% from September.
