SimpleGeo Gets $1.5 Million for Location-Aware Technology

Boulder, Colo. - SimpleGeo, a provider of location-aware technology used in Web and mobile applications, has raised $1.5 million in its first round of funding, led by First Round Capital, CNET News.com reported.

Other investors reportedly include Redpoint Ventures, Freestyle Capital, Ron Conway, Kevin Rose, Chris Sacca, Gary Vaynerchuk and Joshua Schachter.

Colorado-based SimpleGeo launched its service earlier this month, offering a suite of tools to developers looking to integrate location-aware features to their Web and mobile applications.
