Report: DailyCandy Cuts Daily Distribution in Seven CitiesAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on December 4, 2009 - 9:59am.
Philadelphia,
Penn. - DailyCandy, the Comcast-owned (NASD: CMCSA)
local daily email newsletter that offers culture and shopping picks in 12
cities, will cease daily publication in seven cities, Valleywag reported.
The seven affected cities -- Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington D.C. and Miami -- will now publish local editions twice a week, and on the remaining days will distribute DailyCandy's "Everywhere" edition. The move will result in layoffs for six full-time editorial staffers, but the company plans to add an equal amount of staff in New York. The company also publishes daily in New York, London, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Comcast acquired DailyCandy last August for $125 million.
