Calif. - Facebook on Monday
announced plans to create a global safety advisory board, aimed at protecting
its members from online predators.
The board will be made up of representatives from organizations including Childnet International, The Family Online Safety Institute, Common Sense Media, ConnectSafely and WiredSafety. "One of our first projects together will be to overhaul the safety information that's available to you from the Facebook Help Center so that the resources are more comprehensive and include content that's specifically tailored to the needs of parents, teachers and teens," the company wrote in a blog post.
