- Cloud Engines, a developer of technology that lets users remotely access
external hard drives, has raised $3 million of an expected $4 million round of
equity, VentureBeat reported, citing a regulatory filing.
Details on investors were not disclosed, although previous backers include Foundry Group. Founded in 2007, San Francisco-based Cloud Engines offers a device, the Pogoplug, that lets users connect their USB drives to the Internet for remote file access, even via the iPhone. The company previously raised $3.25 million in May.
