AlikeList Gets $5 Million for Local Business Reviews

Sunnyvale, Calif. - AlikeList, a new social site that features user-generated local business reviews, announced on Tuesday that it ahs raised $5 million in first round funding from Syncom Venture Partners.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based AlikeList lets users create reviews of local establishments, and list businesses they wish to visit, and share their referrals with friends.

Users may also choose to share their reviews with the entire AlikeList community.

The company, whose competitors in the space include Yelp and CitySearch, will use the funds for product development, and to build its user base and expand its executive team.
