San Mateo,
Calif.
– GetJar, a mobile
applications store, announced on Thursday that it has raised $11 million in its
second round of venture capital financing, led by Accel Partners.

Founded in
2005, San Mateo, Calif.-based GetJar currently
offers more than 65,000 applications across all major handsets and platforms,
to customers in over 200 countries.

The company says it has to date served more
than 1 billion downloads, and claims to be the second-largest app store, behind
Apple’s.

GetJar will use the new funds for further product development.
