San Francisco - The CIA's In-Q-Tel investment arm and Google (NASD: GOOG) Ventures invested in a real-time Web monitoring firm called Recorded Future, Wired.com reports.

The investments were made shortly after the company was founded in 2009, and are believed to be under $10 million each.

Cambridge, Mass.-based Recorded Future has developed a "temporal analytics" engine that looks at the links between documents that refer to the same people, places and events.

The company currently maintains an index of more than 100 million such events.
