Los Angeles – Analysts are estimating that Apple (NASD: AAPL) sold
anywhere between 400,000 and 1 million units of the iPad 2 during the device’s
launch weekend, according to published reports. Reuters noted that Wedbush
Securities analyst Scott Sutherland said his firm "would not be surprised
to see Apple sell closer to 1 million iPad2s in the opening weekend."

CNET
cited Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster as estimating iPad 2 sales of 400,000
to 500,000 over the weekend.

Reuters also noted that analysts had predicted
first weekend iPad 2 sales of 350,000 to 400,000.

The original iPad sold
300,000 during its first weekend on sale in April 2010.
