Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. – Redbox, the operator of a network of automated DVD rental kiosks, this week rolled out video game rentals at its kiosks nationwide.

The company began testing $2-per-day game rentals in 2009, and said that in two years consumers rented more than 1 million games from its 5,000 test locations.

Redbox will now offer game rentals at 21,000 of its 27,000 kiosks.

The kiosks will stock titles for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
