San Francisco, Calif. — The mobile industry is expected to reach 2 percent of global Gross World Product (GDP), or $1.3 trillion in revenue this year, analyst Chetan Sharma reported.

According to VentureBeat, Sharma projects that mobile game subscriptions will reach 6 billion globally this year, with China and India leading the way. Although this is the case, Sharma predicts the US will dominate when it comes to mobile revenue — expecting the revenue to reach over $300 billion this year.
“The first 1 billion took over 20 years and this last one is going to take only 15 months,” he wrote.
