Whooznxt has expanded the opportunities it offers member bands, thanks to a partnership with Virgin Mobile USA. Big Bang Presented by Whooznxt is an original weekly series hosted on Virgin Mobile’s Facebook lifestyle portal, Virgin Mobile Live, that showcases a chosen band with exclusive content. The bands will also be featured on Virgin Mobile Live 2.0, Virgin Mobile’s streaming music station available on all Android devices via the Android Market.

The subject artist each week is chosen using Wooznxt’s “heat index” that determines which bands have grown their fan base the most as measured across all of the major social networks. Among other things, the segment premieres a new video created specifically for the Big Bang series, and the Virgin Mobile Live Facebook page will host an exclusive interview with the band conducted by Virgin Mobile Live’s DJ and music supervisor Abbey Braden that focuses on how the artists built up their fan base using social media.

“These days, emerging bands live or die by their social following,” said Ron Faris, director of Brand Marketing, Virgin Mobile USA. “Whooznxt has an intriguing platform that gauges the social trending of up and coming bands. By showcasing some of their bands’ success stories and exclusive content on Virgin Mobile Live, we hope that other emerging bands can see their recipes for viral success. We’re really excited to be launching this program and have high hopes for it.”

Whooznxt has used its index to secure performance slots through relationships with ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Dew Tour, Virgin Mobile FreeFest, the Vans Warped Tour and others.

Big Bang debuted Monday with Eyes Set to Kill and the video Where I Want To Be from their new album, White Lotus. Asking Alexandria is the focus for Oct. 10th, with a live video directed by Frankie Nasso of  Not the American Average from the album Stand Up and Scream. Asking Alexandria previously appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! thanks to Whooznxt.

Drake Bell will be showcased on Oct. 17. He became famous as half of Nickelodeon’s tween comedy Drake and Josh, has had two hit singles and now has 2.4 million Facebook fans. Then on Oct 24, Hollywood Undead will get their 2 million Facebook fans in the Halloween mood with a remix of Levitate off their American Tragedy album.
