Waltham, Mass. – Black Duck Software, a Waltham-based provider of strategy, products, and services for supporting large-scale adoption of open source software, has raised $12 million in a round of venture capital.

Founded in 2002, Black Duck said it now has about an 80 percent market share, a fast-growing customer base, including some of the largest companies in the world and about 40 percent of annualized sales growth for the past three years.

The company develops services and technology to support open source adoption and use by software development teams.
