Bringing buckets of digital blood to Christmas festivities, fans who pre-order 345 Games’ Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat from GameStop will receive two full episodes of its sibling television program, Spike TV’s hit series Deadliest Warrior. Additionally, one of these extra episodes has never before been available on Blu-ray or DVD.

This is the third release in the game series, and it includes all of the previously released downloadable content packs, along with all of the characters and weapons from both previous games and six complete episodes of the TV show Deadliest Warrior. A highlight of the game’s new content is a “Graveyard” playable arena, and the 30 new weapons feature a “Lochaber Axe” for William Wallace, a “Monk’s Spade” for Sun Tzu and a “Tsonga Battle Axe” for Shaka Zula.

Viacom’s MTV Networks Entertainment Group in April launched 345 Games as an arm of its Comedy Central and Spike TV channels to develop products based on MTVN Entertainment Group’s franchises and brands, all of which will be cross-promoted on-air, off-air and online. Deadliest Warrior: The Game became its first release in July, followed about a month later by Comedy Central’s Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon.

Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 9, and its graphic battle action has earned it an ‘M’ for Mature rating by the ESRB.

Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior uses scientific analysis, CGI and other modern expertise to “pit two of the most feared warriors civilization has ever known against each other.” Three of the highly-anticipated albeit somewhat surreal showdowns this season are: Joan of Arc vs. William the Conqueror, Saddam Hussein vs. Pol Pot, and Hannibal vs. Genghis Khan.
