TiVo has released its next-day report on the Academy Awards broadcast, which pinpoints the moment most of its users saw, and the top answer isn’t very edifying. Amid all of the artistry, talent and achievement on view, the peak viewing moment of the entire evening was when Jennifer Lopez  (pictured) was presenting the Academy Award for Best Costume Designs and Make-Up with co-presenter Cameron Diaz, and people thought the plunging neckline of her Zuhair Murad gown revealed more than it should have.

Using the reporting capabilities of its Stop||Watch ratings service, TiVo was able to keep track of second-by-second viewership data aggregated anonymously throughout the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday.

It found that the next most-popular moment was Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow’s faux film crew sketch when they presented the award for Best Documentary, during which Downey physically reminded social media that Tebowing – kneeling in prayer a la Tim Tebow – was a trending thing several weeks ago.

Oddly enough, Angelina Jolie showcasing her leg didn’t make TiVo’s top five despite instantly launching a meme and its own Twitter account. In fact, after those first two, the top moments were more what the Academy would wish for. At number 3 is Meryl Streep accepting the award for Best Actress, in recognition of her performance in The Iron Lady. It was Streep’s 17th nomination and third Oscar, her previous two naming her Best Actress in Sophie’s Choice (1982) and Kramer vs. Kramer (1979).

In fourth place was Octavia Spencer receiving the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, for her portrayal of Minny Jackson in The Help, one of the few winners that pundits had accurately predicted.

Traditionally, many people tune in to the Oscars just for the final few top awards. So it’s not surprising that the fifth highest viewership was for Tom Cruise announcing The Artist as Best Picture, especially since there was no clear front-runner among the nominees.
