YouTube publishers with early access to YouTube Live can now monetize their live events with advertising or pay-per-view options that can be priced differently by country.

Real-time analytics are enabled as well. The accessible data include number of playbacks and concurrent viewers of live streams by geography and format.

Publishing partners also now have free use of Wirecast for YouTube Live, software for producing and streaming live events directly to YouTube that the company said previously cost $400.

Varun Talwar, YouTube partner product manager, wrote on an official blog, “It allows capture and switching between multiple video and audio sources, roll in of media files and images and add live effects and overlays.”

Additionally, users are now offered guided flow for setting up and previewing live events before they go in front of an audience.

The changes were rolled out today on an official YouTube blog, commemorating the first anniversary of YouTube Live. It further promised YouTube Live would be available more widely in the near future.
