Sony Electronics has announced price and availability of its Internet Player with Google TV, which it previewed in January at CES. The NSZ-GS7 will cost $199 when it goes on sale July 22 in the U.S.

A second model will be available in time for the holiday season. The NSZ-GP9 adds a Blu-ray Disc player to the Google TV platform and will cost $299.

Both are equipped with a Bluetooth remote control that incorporates a backlit QWERTY keyboard, a touch pad, and a three-axis motion sensor for gaming, and the GP9 Blu-ray disc player supports voice search as well.

Sony said this makes it the first manufacturer to launch Google TV products outside of the United States, initially starting with the United Kingdom in July, followed later by Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico. The company has been selling Google TV-powered products in the U.S. since 2010.

The devices are designed to be interoperable with Sony’s smartphones, tablets and other Android audio and video products, said Phil Molyneux, president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics.

“Entertainment content is available through so many channels and sites, and Google TV helps consumers easily find what they want to watch, listen to or play using familiar search engine technology, enhancing the viewer experience,” Molyneux said. “TV will never be the same.”
