San Francisco – Zendesk, a San Francisco-based developer of cloud-based customer service software, said on Wednesday it has raised $45 million in a new round of funding, led by Redpoint Ventures.
Index Ventures, GGV Capital, Goldman Sachs and previous backers Charles River Ventures, Benchmark Capital and Matrix Partners also participated.
In addition, the company has secured a $15 million credit facility through Silicon Valley Bank.
“This new funding allows us to invest aggressively in global expansion, top-notch talent, and technology innovation,” said founder and CEO Mikkel Svane. Zendesk, which has more than 20,000 clients, completed its previous round of funding in late 2010.
