Washington, DC – A tweet by President Obama late Tuesday night needed just 22 minutes to become the most popular Twitter posting of all time, according to celebrities’ social media tracker Starcount.
The tweet, posted at 11:16 p.m. EST – once the President’s reelection bid had been solidified – read simply, “Four more years,” with a photo of him hugging First Lady Michelle Obama (see below).
The message, which by noon Wednesday had been retweeted more than 684,000 times, supplanted the previous all-time leader, Justin Bieber, whose Sept. 26 tweet, “RIP Avalanna. i love you” had been retweeted more than 200,000 times.
Another post from Obama sent earlier in the evening, “This happened because of you. Thank you,” quickly moved into the No. 2 spot.
