Facebook has added Apple’s iTunes to its Gifts program, enabling people to send iTunes credits to any of their Facebook friends.
To add a personal touch to the process, gift credits come with a digital greeting card, and senders can share recommendations for what music, book, movie or apps they think the credit should be used on. Recommendations can also be based on the recipient’s Facebook “likes.”
Credits can be sent in the amounts of $10, $15, $25 or $50, and the amount can be spent on anything in the iTunes store. The gift gets included on Facebook timelines – not including the dollar amount –as allowed by individual privacy settings.
Apple’s iTunes joins more than 100 other Facebook Gift partners like Starbucks, BabyGap, Fab, Brookstone, Dean & DeLuca, and 1-800-Flowers. The transactions are completed in moments, which should appeal to all procrastinators.
