Mobile media company Zumobi today announced Scott Crystal has been named to the newly-created position of chief revenue officer. Among other things, he is known for having been president and CEO of TV Guide until shortly after Open Gate Capital acquired it from Macromedia.
Crystal will be responsible for Zumobi’s Brand Integration platform and all revenue generating operations.
Zumobi partners with brands to publish app that integrate ads with partners’ content, giving them control over the entire brand experience and providing tools for consumer interaction and activity tracking. It lists NBC, Disney, Pepsi, Kraft, Bank of America, Citibank and Sprint among its partners.
Zumobi is headquartered in Seattle, but Crystal will be based in the company’s New York office.
Crystal most recently served as president and CEO of lifestyle brand The Daily Meal. His career also includes having been vice president of National Geographic, executive vice president of Ziff-Davis, and president of Fast Company.
