San Francisco – CardFree, a San Francisco-based developer of a mobile merchant platform, said on Monday it has launched operations after raising $10 million in its first round of funding.
The company said its platform combines a range of tools for merchants, including personalized offers and promotions, mobile payments, loyalty, order-ahead and social media engagement.
CardFree is part of a portfolio of companies advised by investor Jeffrey Katz, who founded Mercury Payments Systems.
“There is a gap in the market for seamless merchant solutions that integrate mobile, online and POS, and merchants are going to be a big driver of mobile commerce in the near future,” said Katz.
