Yesterday we published a report questioning whether Sony, which recently revealed technology patents which could allow for the blocking of used games, will attempt to block users of the Playstation 4 from playing used games on the system. Today CNET published a report citing Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter as disputing such claims, saying in a note to investors that any claim that Sony would try to block used games on its next console fails to realize that the company “benefits little from a unilateral decision to block games.” NOTE: Pachter, a leading industry analyst, is a speaker at DMW’s Games Summit at CES next week.
