Kabam, a San Francisco-based developer of free-to-play games, said on Thursday it has acquired Vancouver-based counterpart Exploding Barrel Games. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition adds developers who have worked on games such as Need for Speed, Skate, FIFA and SSX. Exploding Barrel is currently working on three unannounced games and employs more than 30 designers, artists and programmers. Since 2010, Kabam also has acquired WonderHill, Fearless Studios, Gravity Bear, Wild Shadow Studios and Balanced Worlds. Read more.
