How Oreo Won the Super Bowl Ad Competition with its Twitter Ad within Minutes of the Blackout

There’s been a lot of commentary about the best and worst Super Bowl ads, but one of the most interesting ad stories of the Game was Oreo’s on-the-fly ad tweeted just minutes after the Blackout. The witty tweet featured an Oreo cookie with white fading into black background and the statement “You Can Still Dunk in the Dark.” Sarah Hofstetter, President of the agency behind the ad told BuzzFeed: “We had a mission control set up at our office with the brand and 360i, and when the blackout happened, the team looked at it as an opportunity. Because the brand team was there, it was easy to get approvals and get it up in minutes.”
