Vine, Twitter-owned App Makes Age Rating to 17+ After Porn Problem

The Verge reports that Vine, the Twitter-owned video-sharing iOS app, that allows users to put together clips of videos to create six second loops, has introduced an update that warns users about age-restricted material. In the v1.0.5 app update, users are required to confirm their age is 17 and above before the download begins. The update released today features minor bug fixes, the option to share on Facebook or Twitter after a video has been posted, and feature to report or block users. The application had a 12+ age rating before, but after the controversy, the app’s developers felt there was a need to censor porn-related searches and increase the age rating to 17+.  Read more
