Thomvest Ventures, a venture capital firm, has led a new $27 million round of funding for DataXu, a developer of digital marketing management software, the company said on Thursday. Flybridge Capital Partners, Atlas Venture and Menlo Ventures also participated. DataXu was founded in 2009 by a group of MIT aeronautics and astronautics scientists who previously developed the software that guided NASA’s Mars mission plans. The company’s software is designed to maximize return on investments in digital marketing operations.
