Microsoft’s LA-Based Studio Developing New Interactive Content for Xbox Live

Nancy Tellem, President of Entertainment and Digital Media for Microsoft, spoke Monday at the All Things Digital’s Dive into Media conference in Dana Point, California about the company’s new studio, called the Xbox Entertainment Studios, which is developing new interactive content for Xbox Live. Tellem said that Microsoft plans to launch more than 40 new voice-controlled customized TV and entertainment apps on Xbox in 2013. “We want to partner with the Industry to bring entertainment into a new era,” she told the panel as reported by Deadline Hollywood. “It’s an era when interactive entertainment becomes the greatest form of all entertainment – and we couldn’t be more excited to play a part in it.”An average user spends 87 hours a month on Xbox, an increase of 10 percent, entertainment app usage is up 57 percent over a year ago, and online multiplayer gaming also grew in 2012.  Read more
