YouTube Footage of Siberian Meteor Sets Online Video Records

RT, an international news network that broadcasts in English, Arabic and Spanish from its studios in Moscow and DC, said its YouTube footage of the recent Siberian meteor blast has become the most watched online video event of all time. According to video measurement firm VideoMeasures, the network’s YouTube montage of several eyewitness videos drew more than 28 million views in the first five days following the Feb. 15 event. The company, which in 2011 also boasted the most watched news event on YouTube with its footage of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, said the latest event has attracted more than 138 million views so far across all platforms.
