Report: Google Eyeing First-Ever Retail Store in New York

Google.logoInternet giant Google may soon sign a lease for its first-ever retail store, Crain’s New York Business reported. The Mountain View-based company reportedly is considering a 8,000-square-foot space in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, about a block away from an Apple store. Business Insider noted that Google until now has relied on spaces inside retailers such as Best Buy to promote its Nexus and Chromebook products. The company also has been working on large barges on each U.S. coast that could serve as technology exhibition spaces, though those plans have been on hold. Read more
