The Guardian: Music Discovery Startup Soundwave Launches

The Guardian reports that Soundwave, a new music discovery app, has launched for smartphones to help fans share information and find new songs and artists from friends and tastemakers. The app is free for download on iPhone and Android. CNET reports that AT&T has reportedly started offering nationwide support for Apple's FaceTime videoconferencing app for iPhone on its cellular network. Mashable: Apple Says We Don’t Give the NSA Direct Access to Our Servers

Mashable reports that Apple has just released a statement called "Apple’s Commitment to Customer Privacy," declaring that it isn't involved in the NSA's PRISM program. Apple says in the statement that it does not give any government agency direct access to its servers, and that any government agency asking for customer information is required to obtain a court order. Between December 1, 2012 and May 31 2013, Apple received between 4,000 to 5,000 requests from U.S. law enforcement for customer information. Read More

Reuters reports that Apple Inc. is thinking of launching iPhones with bigger screens as well as cheaper models in a variety of colors, over the next year, said four people having knowledge of the matter. Apple is considering introducing a minimum of two bigger iPhones next year, one having a 4.7-inch screen and another with a 5.7-inch screen, said the sources. They said suppliers have been contacted with plans for the bigger screens, but it's still uncertain if Apple will in fact launch its flagship product in the larger sizes. Read More
