Palo Alto, Calif. – Hewlett-Packard (HP), the Palo Alto-based computing giant, said on Thursday it will pay approximately $10.2 billion to acquire U.K. infrastructure software maker Autonomy, while also exploring the potential sale or spin-off of its own PC business.

San Francisco - Blinkx, the operator of a searchable index
of Web video, plans to raise $31.2 million through a private placement of its
shares, Reuters reported.
Majority shareholder Autonomy will be among the
buyers of the shares, which are equivalent to 7.5% of the company.
San
Francisco-based Blinkx said in a statement that the deal will "further strengthen
Blinkx’s balance sheet and provide additional funding to support Blinkx’s
growth strategy."

San Francisco – Blinkx, a searchable index of Web video, saw its shares rise 40% in their initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange Tuesday, which garnered around $50 million and saw the company valued at nearly $355 million.
Blinkx was launched three years ago in San Francisco, by a former executive at Cambridge, England-based search firm Autonomy.
That company recently exercised an option to acquire 90% of Blinkx, and merged it with its consumer search unit. [...].
Cambridge, U.K. - Autonomy, a provider of enterprise and consumer search technology, announced on Wednesday that it will exercise an option to buy consumer video search provider Blinkx, merge its own consumer search division with the company, and file for an initial public offering on London's AIM exchange next month.
