CrowdSource Acquires San Francisco-Based Servio

CrowdSource, an Illinois-based provider of managed crowdsourcing technology, said on Thursday it will acquire San Francisco-based counterpart Servio. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company said the acquisition will strengthen its client portfolio, expand its workforce and augment its current service offerings. Twitter Signs BBC Global News for its TV Ad-program Amplify

TechCrunch reports that Twitter has now signed with BBC Global News for its in-stream video TV and Ad-targeting program, Amplify. This is its first partnership with the Global News organization. In the last month, the company had reported to add CBS to the Amplify roster. Amplify was originally partnered by BBC America, FOX, Fuse and The Weather Channel. Mobiquity Raises $1.6 Million in Venture Capital

Mobiquity, a Wellesley-based provider of mobile marketing services, has raised $1.6 million of additional venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Speakaboos, Interactive Storybooks Service, Raises $6.2 Million

TechCrunch reports that Speakaboos has raised $6.2 Million, in a Series A round of funding. The New York-based start-up provides a subscription service for children for interactive story books. The round of funding was led by New York-based a digital media venture development platform called MEDIA. Other participants in the round included Shari Redstone’s (Vice Chairman of the Board of CBS & Viacom) Advancit Capital; Korean education company Kyowon Group; Gerald Hughes (former President & COO of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt); and Rick Segal (Managing Director of ReThink Education).
