Woodland Hills, Calif. – Music Reports said on Tuesday that it has signed a multi-year deal to administer the music publishing rights and royalty accounting for Gracenote’s lyric service in North America.

.Emeryville, Calif. - Gracenote, a provider of music identification and mobile music services acquired two years ago by Sony Corp. of America, said that its media database processed its 200 billionth query and one billionth submission this month. The landmark 200 billionth query was for "Killers," a newly released DVD, and the billionth submission was an album called "My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky" by American post-punk band Swans.

.New York - MetroLyrics.com, a licensed song lyrics display site that was launched in 2001 by a then 16-year-old Milun Tesovic, now draws over 13.5 million unique monthly users and generated close to $10 million in revenue in 2009, The New York Times reported. MetroLyrics in 2008 signed a deal with Gracenote, a unit of Sony (NYSE: SNE) that has aggregated the licenses necessary from music publishers to operate a licensed lyrics site.
