The 9.7MB, free software is available to iOS devices — requiring the mobile or tab-like gadgets to have a iOS 4.1 or better running system

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple (NASD: AAPL) is promoting an announcement
scheduled for tomorrow regarding its iTunes service that the company promises
"you’ll never forget." "Tomorrow is Just Another Day. That
You’ll Never Forget. Check back here tomorrow for an exciting announcement from
iTunes," reads a note posted to Apple.com on Monday.
Wired.com speculates
the company will introduce a new iTunes music streaming service, and notes that
the announcement appears it may only cover iTunes in the U.S., Japan and
England.

New York – The CEO of NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) says the company is not
likely to offer its programs for digital rental on Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) recently announced iTunes
TV rentals service, arguing they are priced too low at 99 cents, Reuters
reported. "We do not think 99 cents is the right price point for our
content. … We thought it would devalue our content," NBCU head Jeff
Zucker reportedly told an investor conference.

Los Angeles - Warner Bros. (NYSE: TWX) believes that Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) new TV show
rental service prices episodes too low and will cannibalize sales of its
programs, which is why the company isn’t participating, the Associated Press
reported.
Warner Bros. CEO Barry Meyer made those comments on Thursday at an
investor conference.
Apple is renting TV episodes for 99 cents each, while
permanent downloads of those same episodes sell on iTunes for
$2.99 each.

New York – TuneCore, a service that helps artists post their
music for sale at iTunes and other retailers, on Tuesday posted details for its
musician clients on how they can set up Artist accounts on Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) new Ping
music social network within iTunes. TuneCore will handle authentication, making
sure legitimate parties claim the page, after which Apple emails a unique link
to the artist, who may then log in with an existing iTunes account or create a
new iTunes account for the Ping Artist [...].
San Francisco – A federal appeals court has overturned a
victory for Universal Music Group in a dispute over how much it royalties it
owes rapper Eminem for digital sales of his songs, Bloomberg reported.
A 2009
ruling found that Eminem-affiliated FBT Productions was only entitled to the
same royalty rates on sales of downloads and ringtones he received for sales of
physical products like CDs.
The U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco said the
lower court erred in siding with Universal’s reasoning, and FBT is [...].
Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD: AAPL) said that more than one million
iTunes users joined its new Ping music-focused social network in the 48 hours
following its launch last Wednesday.
"One-third of the people who have
downloaded iTunes 10 have joined Ping," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice
president of Internet services.
"As many more people download iTunes 10 in
the coming weeks, we expect the Ping community to continue growing."
Apple
counts a total of 160 million iTunes account holders who could potentially
become users of Ping.
