Seoul, South Korea – Samsung has sold 600,000 of its Galaxy
Tab tablet computers since the device went on sale last month, according to a
report in the Korean Herald. The iPad-challenger device has sold 30,000 units
to date in Samsung’s home base of South Korea, through partner SK Telecom. The
company in September projected sales of 1 million units for the full year. By
comparison, Apple has sold an estimated 7.5 million iPads since that device
went on sale in April.

Los Angeles – Samsung’s Galaxy Tab tablet computer has gone
on sale from T-Mobile’s website, a day before Verizon and four days before
Sprint are scheduled to begin offering the device, CNET News.com reported. The
T-Mobile site is offering the Galaxy Tab for $399 with a two-year data service
contract, or for $599 without a contract.

London – U.K.-based digital music service provider 7digital
on Tuesday announced several new distribution partnerships, including a deal to
become mobile network operator O2′s digital music partner in the U.K. The
company also said that it will power a music hub on both Samsung’s new Galaxy
Tab device, and Toshiba’s Folio 100 tablet. 7digital additionally launched a
new mobile-optimized Web store, and launched a new mobile application for the
Android platform; an iPhone application is still awaiting approval from Apple.
