USA Network has partnered with yap.TV to create a second-screen social experience specifically for fans of the network’s programs and release it in November.

The free iPad/iPhone app will integrate USA features like its Character Chatter in with yap.TV’s interactive elements like instant polls, custom chat groups, interactive sessions for special events for show stars and more. In addition to deepening engagement, the yap.TV app ultimately will carry advertising, creating a new revenue stream.

Users will also be able to access a dynamic programming guide, view content, invite friends on Facebook and Twitter to the app as well as chat with other yap.TV users. At launch the app will highlight forums for popular USA series like Burn Notice, White Collar, Suits, Psych, Covert Affairs and others.

“We are constantly looking for ways to expand our reach and engage our fans not only through rich experiences, but across multiple platforms so that they can access our shows and engage with them wherever they are,” Jesse Redniss, vice president of Digital for USA Network, said in a statement. “Yap.TV gives our fans an innovative platform for personalizing their interaction and engaging with content in ways that allow us to continually evolve our Social TV experience, always staying a step ahead for our fans.”

Yap.TV is backed primarily by Javelin Venture Partners and Blumberg Capital. Its advisors include Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, renowned independent Apple developer Andrew Stone, and disruptive entrepreneur Kevin Surace.
