Digital Distributor 24-7 Entertainment Enters Canadian Market

London - 24-7 Entertainment, a provider of online and mobile music distribution services, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a deal to provide digital distribution for Canada's CD Warehouse and MyMusic.com. Under the deal, MyMusic will use the 24-7 technology platform to deliver digital products on behalf of record labels and artists, with Warner Music Canada's RhinoRecords.ca to be the first customer. 24-7 also powers digital music stores for a number of retailers, telcos and other partners in Europe.

London - 24-7 Entertainment, a European provider of online and mobile music, video and ringtone distribution, announced on Wednesday that German electronics retailer Media-Saturn Group has acquired a majority stake in the company.

Datz Launches Unlimited MP3 Download Service

London - European online music store Datz this week announced the launch of a new unlimited download service that provides DRM-free MP3 tracks for an annual fee of about $160. Powered by 24-7 Entertainment, the Datz Music Lounge will feature tracks from major labels Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG) and EMI, as well as independents including The Orchard and Beggars Group. One stipulation is that users purchase a kit that includes a USB key that must be inserted into a PC to access the service.

Germany's Saturn Taps 24-7 Entertainment for Music Store

Berlin - 24-7 Entertainment, a provider of branded digital and mobile entertainment distribution services, announced that German retail giant Saturn will be its first European partner to offer major label Universal Music's full digital music catalog in a DRM-free format. With the addition of over 215,000 tracks from Universal, Saturn's 24-7-powered store now offers over 2 million MP3 tracks for purchase and download.

London - Scandinavian telco TDC on Monday announced the launch of a free, unlimited music download service, with all costs to the recording industry to be picked up by the telco.

European Digital Store Provider 24-7 Adds DRM-Free EMI Tracks

London - 24-7 Entertainment, a provider of digital music stores in Europe, announced on Thursday that major label EMI's DRM-free catalog has been added to its network of digital store partners. The 320 Kpbs songs are already available on 24-7-powered stores from Germany's Weltbild and Scandinavia's CDON, with more partners to be announced shortly.

24-7 Entertainment Powers Music Store for Germany's Buecher

London - European digital media distributor 24-7 Entertainment said on Wednesday that it will power an online music service for Buecher.de, one of Germany's top book and media online stores. The store will offer about 2 million tracks starting at $0.67 each; the entire independent music catalog of 1 million tracks will be offered as 192 Kbps MP3 downloads.

24-7 Music Shop Rebrands, Expands Scope to Include Mobile, Movies, TV

London - 24-7 MusicShop, a European provider of online and mobile music services, announced on Wednesday that it will change its name to 24-7 Entertainment, and broaden scope to include mobile assets, audiobooks, feature films and TV series. The company operates 32 digital retail stores in 12 countries.
