Seattle - Phantom Entertainment, a developer of video game accessories, announced on Monday that it has obtained an undisclosed sum in financing from Chicago Venture Partners managing partner John Fife, which will be used to help fund manufacturing and marketing of its Phantom Wireless Lapboard and Wireless Laser Mouse. Seattle-based Phantom is already selling the products and has a deal to bundle them with Alienware's PC Media Center.

Seattle - Phantom Entertainment announced on Tuesday that Alienware, a unit of Dell that makes high-performance PCs and accessories for gamers, has agreed to carry its Phantom wireless keyboard and laser mouse. Seattle-based Phantom's gaming keyboard is the first product to be brought to market by the company behind the Phantom Game Service, a PC-based broadband game service first announced on 2002 that has yet to be released.

Round Rock, Texas - PC maker Dell announced on Wednesday that it will acquire Alienware, a maker of high-end gaming PCs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Dell said Alienware will become a subsidiary and maintain its own product line, management team, and marketing and sales staffs. "Alienware's products are an excellent complement to Dell's own line of high-performance computers designed for gaming, enthusiast and media content customers," said Dell chairman Michael Dell. Founded in 1996, Alienware makes high-performance designer PCs -- some are shaped like alien heads -- that cost between $3,000 and $4,000, and are marketed to PC gamers and multimedia enthusiasts. The company saw sales of $172 million in 2005, and expects that number to increase to $225 million this year.
