New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) MTV Networks announced on Wednesday that it will distribute clips from its various cable TV networks for free through AOL Video. The video will include clips from shows including "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The Hills," "iCarly" and "I Love New York." The addition of more ad-supported video on AOL (NYSE: TWX) follows the company's shuttering of its video download store last week; however, AOL visitors can still purchase video rentals and downloads through Amazon Unbox on the site. New York - Consumer electronics maker Haier America on Tuesday introduced the Ibiza Rhapsody, a Wi-Fi-enabled portable media player that connects directly to RealNetworks' (NASD: RNWK) Rhapsody digital music service. In addition to Rhapsody, the Ibiza will also allow users to stream on-demand, user-generated videos from AOL Video. Dulles, Va. - In a bid to compete more effectively with Google's YouTube, AOL said that it has launched a new version of its video portal, featuring a number of enhancements that the company said should make it easier of users to find, watch and share more than 20 million videos from across the Web. The site includes a redesigned main page, an upgraded search tool and an embedded playback tool that lets users find and watch videos from other video sites without leaving the AOL site. San Francisco - ClickStar, a broadband video entertainment site founded by actor Morgan Freeman's Revelations Entertainment production company, has teamed with AOL and Intel to offer a "limited supply" of free downloads of "Lonely Hearts," a film starring John Travolta and Selma Hayek that opened in theaters two weeks ago. Dulles, Va. - AOL announced on Monday that it has added films and TV shows from Viacom's Paramount Pictures to the offering on its AOL Video portal. New releases, TV specials, library hits and cult favorites will be available for download for between $9.99 and $19.99 per movie. AOL also said it added content from BlueHighways TV, The Employment & Careers Channel, The Hip Hop Hall of Fame, MyPath TV and Plum to AOL Video, which features over 50 video-on-demand channels that combine free and download-to-own programming.
