Huffington Post Allows Top Commenters To Become Bloggers

I interviewed Arianna Huffington about the new system — our Q&A appears below. First, a few thoughts on the idea of promoting commenters to bloggers. Every media company is experimenting with “user-generated content,” and comment-enabled content is now ubiquitous, but most media companies treat those “users” as an undifferentiated mass (as the distasteful term “user” implies) and the content they “generate” as one big bucket of “stuff.”
